Synopsis

Dima Gorin’s Career is a touching and light tragicomedy that reveals the everyday lives of hard-working Siberians. Shot in the the Socialist Realism style, the film is based on the values of the Soviet era and explores a path to true love and happiness in the USSR.

Dmitry Gorin is a young employee at a savings bank in Moscow. One day, he accidentally gives too much money to someone who is working in the remote Siberian taiga in construction. To get the money back, he must travel to Siberia.

What he finds in Siberia is a new world, full of strong friendships and friendly mutual assistance. It’s a completely different life to what he knows in Moscow. More importantly, he also finds the girl of his dreams, the traditional Galya.

Fans of Soviet comedies of this period will immediately recognized Aleksandr Demyanenko in the title role. He of course played leading parts in other classics, such as Kidnapping, Caucasian Style, Ivan Vasilyevich Changes His Profession, and Operation Y and Shurik’s Other Adventures.
