The Stone Flower

This remarkable film by Alexander Ptushko is based on the Russian fairy tale, “The Malachite Box.” The film tells the story of a young gemsmith apprentice, Danila, who journeys to the mysterious Copper Mountain to visit the infamous Stone Flower. However, it’s said that any who behold it are so entranced that they are unable to leave.
