In The Magic Weaver, two illustrious Soviet storytellers – writer, Yevgeny Schwartz, and director, Alexander Rou – have come together to create an amazing, colorful world, populated by talking animals, underwater monsters, sorcerers and pirates.
A brave Russian soldier is returning home after serving his country. Amid dense forest thicket, he comes across a boy, Vanya, who has lost his mother, Maria. She has been stolen by the villain, Vodyanaya, who is the lord of swamps, rivers, and seas.
Vodyanaya has dragged Maria into his underwater kingdom. And so, the soldier and boy waste no time in journeying to the underwater kingdom to save her.
