Inseparable is feature film cut of the original Ukrainian TV series about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster (you can watch the series here).
The film begins one day before the tragic nuclear meltdown of April 26, 1986. 17-year-old Alya is at school in Kiev, enjoying everyday life. Her older sister, Maryana, invites her to go visit their aunt together in Pripyat. However, on the way their car breaks down and they have to spend the night in a field very close to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The next day, confusion reigns in Pripyat as the military arrives in town and more and more people are rushed to the local hospital. During this crazy time, Alya meets a conscript soldier, Pasha. Feelings instantly flare up between them and the disaster surrounding them fades into the background.
