I’ll Be Around

I’ll Be Around is a 2012 Russian drama directed by Pavel Ruminov. It won the main prize at the Kinotavr festival.

I’ll Be Around is all about a mother’s love for her child and the difficult choices she has to make. The main character, Inna is a successful young woman, the favorite of colleagues and friends. She has a six-year-old son, Mitya, whom raises alone. Inna and Mitya are very close and cannot imagine life without each other. However, fate intervenes when Inna finds out she is incurably ill. Not wanting Mitya to become an orphan, she begins to search for new parents to take Mitya in. Though she succeeds in finding a wonderful, loving couple, ahead is her most difficult task – to break the news to Mitya.
