Icebreaker

Icebreaker (Ледокол) is an exciting film that recounts the true story of a Russian icebreaker that faced a disastrous collision at sea. The year is 1985 and the icebreaker, “Mikhail Gromov,” is sailing in the Southern Ocean off the shores of Antarctica. During this fateful trip, the ship’s crew faced a harrowing situation. In their attempt to avoid a collision with an iceberg, they unfortunately become trapped. Over the next 133 days, the crew attempts to navigate their way home. Their grueling journey is made all the more challenging by the bitter cold, dark polar nights, and total inability to communicate with the rest of the world.
