Fragment of an Empire

Fragment of an Empire is an extraordinarily impressive classic and the epitome of the Soviet propaganda film. It tells the a story of a Russian soldier who loses his memory after a concussion received in WWI. Ten years later, he begins to remember his past and tries to return to his former life. However, when he returns he discovers a new and alien St. Petersburg. As such, we get to see his journey: death under the empire and rebirth into socialism.
