Forgotten by God

Forgotten by God (Апостасия) is a historical drama about successive generations of a Russian family living and dying through brutal wartime. Through this family’s grueling experiences, we get to see several wars up close: the Russian Civil War, WWII, the Chechen conflict of the 1990s, and the current war taking place in the east of Ukraine. Forgotten by God is an excellent film that any Russian history buff would especially enjoy watching. And if you’re looking for a similar type of film, definitely consider also watching Siberiade, a historical drama that traces a similar Russian family’s wartime travails in Siberia.
