The setting of Dreaming of Space is the late 1950s. The Sputnik satellite has already been launched, but so far nobody has gone to space.
Enter a middle-aged, naïve man named Konyok. He works as a cook in a local restaurant and spends most of his time dreaming fervently about his and society’s bright future. One day, he meets a mysterious stranger, Herman, who tells him about a secret process for selecting candidates for the first manned space flight. Naturally, Konyok can’t wait to participate.
