Synopsis

Aleksa Dundic (Oleko Dundich) is joint Soviet-Yugoslav production that celebrates the life and times of a famous Serbian soldier. Dundic volunteered in the Serbian army during WWI and later joined the Red Army during the Russian Civil War.

The film beings in 1917, when Dundic is released from prison in a provincial Russian city thanks to the revolution.

Together with his comrades, he goes over to the Reds and becomes the commander of an international cavalry squadron. Proving his skill on the battlefield, he soon gets entrusted with increasingly difficult and dangerous assignment. This culminates in him impersonating the White Guards and going behind enemy lines. There, he must employ all his wile to outsmart royalist counterintelligence.
