A Rough Draft

A Rough Draft (Черновик) is the long-awaited screen version of one of the most famous novels by Sergei Lukyanenko, author of Night Watch and Day Watch. The film tells the story of a young Muscovite named Kirill who works as a designer in the computer games industry. One day, he begins to notice that he seems to be falling out of touch with reality. First, an unfamiliar woman moves into his apartment, then he loses his job, and soon even his own parents forgot he exists. Of course, all this did not happen just like that: Kirill finds out that he is chosen for a special, mysterious mission. Kirill’s is transformed into an immortal, super-strong officer who patrols the border between different parallel universes. Each of these universes has planet earth, full of many recognizable landmarks like the Moscow Kremlin. However, the residents of these different worlds live differently to how we do. Kirill’s new role takes him to the mysterious world of Arkan. There are those who believe the world is a copy of our world, and that with its help many conflicts and disasters can be prevented. However, the passage to Arkan was destroyed in the middle of the 20th century…
